RYA Powerboat Instructor - Training and Assessment
The starting point for those wishing to teach all levels of the national powerboat scheme. Candidates should ensure that they meet the pre-course requirements:
- 5 seasons experience (reduced to one season if you use powerboats as part of your full-time work)
- RYA Level 2 Powerboat certificate
- Pre-entry assessment. This can be done at a cost of £40 for those enrolled on our instructor course, £60 otherwise. Please phone for details.
- A current first aid certificate.

RYA Dinghy Instructor - Training and Assessment Course
Essential for anyone wanting to teach sailing, our comprehensive course is run by experienced RYA Coaches and will provide a first-class start for any new instructor. Prior to the course candidates must have proof of:
- Pre-entry assessment. This can be done at a cost of £40 for those enrolled on our instructor course, £60 otherwise. Please phone for details.
- RYA Powerboat Level 2
- Current first aid certificate.
Five days are spent on training in instructional techniques and the final day involves assessment and candidate debriefing.

RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor -Training and Assessment
For experienced RYA Instructors who are eligible according to RYA requirements. Candidates should have the RYA Safety Boat certificate, a current first aid certificate and a recommendation from the Principal of an RYA Training Centre. There is a strong emphasis on the management of groups afloat and the course runs with a strong practical basis. The course is four days duration, run over two consecutive weekends.

Rapid Development Clinics (10 Days)
This course has been designed by request of you! This expertly structured programme will improve your confidence, skill-base, land-based theory and performance on the water. It will give you plenty of opportunity to get out there to practice and to ask as many questions as you like.

Dates: 25th March - 3rd April (RDC)
Instructor Course Preperation Day
This day is designed to allow students to familiarise themselves with the centre, the equipment and the area. This will give you some extra experience when selecting equipment for your sessions during the course and which areas are best to base your teaching sessions on in relation to wind and tide conditions. This will be led by one of our experienced senior instructors. These are held the day before the course unless otherwise stated.
