SPORTS RELIEF NEWS FROM PORTSMOUTH WATERSPORTS!!!
Sunday 25th March Sports Relief Event
This is what we’ve got planned…
The day starts at 10am and there are activities starting every 30 minutes. Each session last 1 hour overall and the last session will start at 3.30pm. To avoid waiting, please phone to book a slot before hand.
Any of the following can be tried in return for a minimum £5 per person donation…
Kayak a Mile – Even if you’re a novice, our sit-on-top kayaks are safe and easy to paddle. After a quick introduction, you’ll soon be paddling off down the harbour under the watchful eye of our safety team. You choose between going solo or teaming up with someone in a double kayak… great for parents and children to get afloat together,
Row a Mile – New at the Watersports Centre are our exciting new rowing boats. Imagine yourself powering down the harbour in the style of Sir Steve Redgrave or Matthew Pinsent! Our coxed 4 boats are stable and fun to row and after a quick introduction you’ll be off. The nature of these boats means that they’re really aimed at 14 years old and up.
Finally… we realised that not everyone wants to get on the water and get wet, so we’ve lined up some kayak simulators that you can paddle on-shore. Why not go head-to-head in a sprint race or try your hand at a ‘time trial’ event. Suitable for young and old alike!
For events on the water, you’ll need a change of clothes and some old shoes/trainers that you don’t mind getting wet. All specialist equipment supplied including wetsuits if required. Don’t forget your fancy dress and Noses!
